Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu reported that according to the EUROCONTROL report, Istanbul Airport was Europe's busiest airport with a daily average of 1,643 flights between 7 and 13 September, and ranked fifth in the world with 829 departures.
Flight traffic rose 3 percent compared with the same period last year. Amsterdam and Paris Charles de Gaulle followed Istanbul with 1,413 and 1,407 flights, respectively. Antalya Airport ranks in Europe’s top 10 with 969 flights.
