Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan said that 400 buses, 100 metrobus vehicles, 50 electric buses, and 100 articulated buses will be acquired for İETT with an investment of approximately 25 billion lira (TL).
İBB Vice President Nuri Aslan stated at the introduction ceremony in Edirnekapı that all the vehicles were produced in Türkiye and the investment was made with own resources. With the purchases, 18 percent of the fleet is renewed, and the goal is to reduce the average age to 6. İETT carries approximately 5 million passengers daily with 67,000 trips.
