Black smoke rising from the chimney of the Turkuaz Polyester factory in Kocaeli's Dilovası district drew reactions. The company stated the smoke stemmed from a technical malfunction and inspections showed no environmental damage.
The company announced that a short-term oxygen deficiency occurred due to clogging in the serpentines of the thermal oxidizer system, and that the system was brought to a safe position with the intervention of technical teams. It was stated that environmental and inspection units were informed on the same day.
