Education Ministry (MEB) Minister Yusuf Tekin stated that mid-term breaks could be abolished in years when schedules are tight due to the 180-school-day requirement. Tekin noted the current policy will continue for now since mid-term breaks coincide with public holidays.
Tekin drew attention to the tight schedule due to the 180-working-day requirement and teachers' two-month legal holiday. He noted that the practice continues because mid-term breaks currently coincide with religious holidays. The minister also announced the introduction of uniforms for teachers.
