Following fish deaths in the Kura River running through Göle district, samples were taken from the water and dead fish. In initial inspections, it is estimated that oxygen levels in the water were below the critical threshold.
The deaths were concentrated at three different points of the river, with dozens of fish washing up on the shore. Provincial and district agriculture directorate teams collected water and fish samples. The definitive cause will be announced after analyses.
