Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum announced that 50 smart city applications, notably in traffic, waste management, and municipal services, will be implemented under the five-year plan, with smart city strategies to be prepared in 81 provinces by the end of 2026.
Under the plan, smart city strategies will be prepared for 81 provinces in 2026, and 187 district municipalities will be included in the process in 2027. At least 50 smart city applications will be implemented in 2028. Additionally, by 2030, at least 80 percent domestic production will be required in smart city technologies, and the Smart City Law will come into force.
