In a vote held at the Balkan Table Tennis Union congress, 10 out of 14 member countries voted in favor and 4 against. According to the report, Greece and the Greek Cypriot administration objected to the decision; Turkish Table Tennis Federation President Kerim Koç stated that they were pleased with the outcome.
