The 15,000-ton capacity Güzelyurt Cold Storage Facility, established with financing from Türkiye and contributions from TOBB, was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC). KKTC Agriculture Minister Hüseyin Çavuş stated the facility is an investment aimed at the entire production sector.
The facility contains 6 frozen air storage units with a capacity of 5,000 tons and 12 cold storage units with a capacity of 10,000 tons. Çavuş recalled that 25,000 acres of citrus land in Güzelyurt are supplied with uninterrupted water. He added that fresh vegetable production reached 4,000 acres.
