According to a Karar report citing Treasury and Finance Ministry data, special consumption tax revenue from the automotive sector declined by 8.12% in August to 60.3 billion liras (TL), while the average tax per vehicle increased from 626 thousand TL to 718 thousand TL.
Due to the sharp contraction in the market, the total money entering the treasury decreased. In the first eight months of the year, 480 billion 245 million lira was collected, remaining below the year-end target. The average SCT burden per vehicle rose to 645 thousand lira.
