Bank Mellat is a private Iranian bank. It was established in 1980 through the merger of several banks and is one of the largest banks in the Islamic Republic of Iran. A privatization process began in 2007 by decision of the Iranian government.

TMSF takes over management of Bank Mellat

TMSF announced that it has taken over the management and supervision of Iran-based Bank Mellat, whose operating license BDDK revoked on September 19. After insured deposits are paid, bankruptcy will be sought from the court.

BDDK revokes operating license of Bank Mellat's Istanbul branch

With an 18 September decision by banking regulator BDDK, the operating license of Iran-based Bank Mellat's Istanbul Türkiye Main Branch was revoked under Article 71 of the Banking Law; the decision was published in the Official Gazette. New Welfare Party leader Fatih Erbakan criticized it.

BDDK revokes operating license of Iran-based Bank Mellat

Banking regulator BDDK revokes Bank Mellat's Istanbul branch operating license

Under a decision dated September 18, the banking regulator BDDK revoked the operating license of the Istanbul Türkiye Central Branch of Iran-based Bank Mellat, under paragraph (b) of the first clause of Article 71 of the Banking Law. The decision was published in the Official Gazette.
