Of the 47 people detained on September 11 in a "bribery" investigation led by the Seferihisar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 29 were arrested and one was released by the prosecutor's office. A Haber reported that 17 suspects were released under judicial control.
Detention orders were issued for 48 people in the investigation; 47 were apprehended, and efforts continue to catch one suspect. The suspects are alleged to have been involved in bribery, bid rigging, irregularities in zoning and licensing procedures, and the unlawful sale of public property. Those detained include the mayor and senior staff.
