Members of the Families Seeking Justice Platform are demanding that judicial processes related to buildings that collapsed in the February 6, 2023 earthquakes be sped up; the platform said the ministry had not yet responded to its requests for a meeting.
Platform spokesperson Aylin Ay argued that the indictments of many buildings were still not prepared and that the deserved punishments had not been handed down in existing trials. At least 53,000 people lost their lives in the earthquakes.
