BirGün wrote that a Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette on September 5, 2026 granted TPAO urgent expropriation authority in its licensed fields in Thrace, and that the decision covers not only drilling sites but also pipelines, camps and storage facilities.
The authorization covers not only drilling areas but also location roads, pipelines and power transmission lines. Immovables needed for production camps, administrative campuses and storage facilities were also included in the scope of expropriation. The practice envisages confiscation of property or establishment of a permanent right of way.
