US House of Representatives member Joe Wilson announced his support for Türkiye's return to the F-35 program and the lifting of CAATSA sanctions. While contacts in the US continue, the defense agenda came to the forefront on the Ankara-Washington line.
Wilson spoke to Anadolu Agency in New York. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth were reported to have said that work with Türkiye continues. Lockheed Martin, the F-16 manufacturer, also drew attention with its statement to Türkiye Gazetesi.
