The Ankara 34th Heavy Penal Court sentenced Ümitcan Uygun to 4 years in prison for incitement to suicide in the case concerning the death of Sema Esen, known publicly as Aleyna Çakır, and acquitted him of the charge of torture. The prosecution had sought a sentence of 6 years 6 months to 15 years.
The verdict was delivered by the Ankara 34th Heavy Penal Court. The court also ruled for Uygun's acquittal on the charge of 'torture'.
