Following heavy rainfall in the Eastern Black Sea region, a landslide in the Pazar district of Rize caused the ground beneath a house to give way; Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) teams examined the site, and no evacuation decision has been made so far.
The family, waking up around 05.00 in the morning, noticed the ground had slipped and threw themselves outside with their children. Teams stated that there was no internal collapse in the building, and a tarp will be laid over the detached area. A more comprehensive technical examination will be conducted when the rain stops.
