According to Türkiye Gazetesi, 20-year-old İlhan Fakılı, who transferred to Beşiktaş from France's Ligue 2 club Clermont at the start of the season, is preparing to wear the national team jersey against France following his performance in the Marseille match.
Fakılı started football in the youth academy of St. Etienne, but after lagging physically he was sent to fourth-tier side Andrezieux-Boutheon. Continuing his development there, the player signed for Clermont in 2024 and quickly rose to the first team. He attracted attention with his performance against Marseille in a Beşiktaş shirt.
